A Safe2Tell responder shared this experience:

We had a tip come in about a student selling drugs at school. Because we responded right away, we were able to get the student into counseling and addiction treatment. Without the tip line, they might not have received the help they needed.

Your role as a tip responder is essential in ensuring that these interventions happen quickly. Programs like HearMeWA depend on your expertise and commitment to creating safer environments for youth.

What to expect

Receiving and responding to tips

Depending on the situation, your role, or the youth’s preference, each scenario may vary. Generally, here’s what you can expect when contacted by HearMeWA:

HearMeWA notifies you that a youth in your community sent a tip.

You respond to the tip and the reporting individual if applicable.

You follow up on the tip by completing a disposition report.
