Receiving and responding to tips

Depending on the situation, your role, or the youth’s preference, each scenario may vary. Generally, here’s what you can expect when contacted by HearMeWA:
1

HearMeWA notifies you that a youth in your community sent a tip.

2

You respond to the tip and the reporting individual if applicable.

3

You can follow up on the tip by completing a disposition report.

Support that goes beyond the conversation.

If something shared needs follow-up, our team may contact a HearMeWA partner who can step in and provide specialized help based on their experience. This could mean:

  • Checking in with someone
  • De-escalating a situation
  • Ensuring safety and protection
  • Providing another safe space and listening ear
  • Assisting with connections to other local services
  • Mentoring and counseling
  • Providing accountability, supporting assurances
